Greyhound win for seniors

Greyhound Bar Cup Listowel Celtic 0 Killarney Athletic 6
A home ¼ final versus Castlegregory in the Greyhound Bar Cup beckons for the seniors after a 6-0 demolition of Listowel Celtic away from home.
Conor Farrell fired home his first of the season from outside the box and will be disappointed to have tarnished a fine performance with a second yellow later in the game when Athletic were well in control. Despite being a man to the good, Athletic could find no more until the second period.
Denis Galvin picked up the first goal of his fine hat-trick early on after the changover. Substitute Ryan O’ Carroll also found the net, along with one from the experienced David Gleeson. With Martin Crowley tireless in midfield and Cian Tobin marshalling the back four, Listowel could find no way back.
Admittedly, Listowel had made it difficult for themselves having a man sent off early on but Athletic had too much firepower to let them back into it in what was a solid team performance.
Best on the day were the back four and keeper Brian O’ Connor, Conor Farrell, Martin Crowley, and the prolific Denis Galvin, with some good work from Lukas Polak, David Gleeson and Paul Lynch.
