Results:
Seniors
Killarney Athletic 1 v Castleisland 1
The A team battled well to earn a 1-1 draw away to Casdtleisland.Brian O’Reilly was the goalscorer with a penalty.
Under 17
Killarney Athletic 2 Castlemaine 1
The first game of the season started well with Mark O’Shea scoring in the very first minute of this match. A second goal from Chris O’Meara gave confidence and with stand –in keeper Ayden Mulvanney, Shane Lyne in defence, Olig Keibig, Ronan Buckley and Danny Healy in midfield commanding the game – some nice football was played thereafter despite a sloppy goal given away. Credit to all the squad for a well deserved win. Best wishes to Dylan Trant for a speedy recovery on nasty leg injury over holidays.
Under 14
Killarney Athletic 9 Killarney Celtic 2
From the start Killarney Athletic dominated this game and were too strong for Killarney Celtic who put up a great effort. Athletic went 5 goals up by half time with goals from Blake Bolster who got 5 goals, Michael Potts and Liam Curran. Blake completed his double hat-trick in the second half and Kieran Kennedy got a great goal to complete the score line. Lorcan McMonagle was the man of the match for Athletic playing on the left wing and scored a great goal. Best for Athletic were Darren Mulcahy, Mark Fitzgerald & Adam Dennehy. But it was most definitely a great team performance by all.
