Athletic Youths made the long journey to Dingle last Saturday and were rewarded with a 6-0 win. Despite the windy and cold conditions Athletic played some great football. Goals from Ronan Murphy 3, Cian O’Neill 2 and Owen Kerrisk 1 saw the away side win. A very good team display all round

Lost by 3 goals to 1 against Kingdom Boys. We were 2 goals down after 5 minutes. We got one back before half time. Mike Cronin took his chance well. Kingdom Boys third was very unlucky as the keeper left it slip through his hands. Best for Athletic were Mike Potts, Billy Courtney and David Naughton.

We were drawn away again to a Limerick side in the last 64 of the National Cup. We got off to a very strong start and found ourselves 2 up within the first 10 minutes of the game. To their credit, Caherdavin battled hard and were level at half time. Athletic piled on the pressure in the second half and Ronan Buckley converted a brilliant free kick from outside the area with 10 minutes remaining. Further goals from Dylan O’Sullivan and Adam O’Shea left Athletic very convincing winners on a score line of 5-2. This was a great team performance on the day and well done to all in reaching the last 32 draw.
