Senior A Team
Killarney Athletic 10 Tralee Dynamos 0
Despite making changes from last week’s FAI Junior Cup team, Killarney Athletic had too much firepower for Tralee Dynamos’ Kerry District league side. The scoreline reflects a game which was effectively over as a contest before half-time when the home side were 4-0 to the good, with Dynamos down to 10 men. Two quick goals from brothers Rory and Alex O’Sullivan, complemented by an o.g. and the fourth from Shane Bunyan put Athletic in control. In the second period, Alex O’Sullivan scored his second followed by a second each for Bunyan and Rory O’Sullivan. A brace then from substitute Denis Galvin and the scoring was completed by Bunyan who claimed the match ball and his hat trick. The game saw returns to action for Eoin O’Connell, David Looney and Conor Farrell in a productive day in front of goal for the side in blue.
Under 12 Premier League
Killarney Athletic 4 Kingdom Boys 1
Both teams were evenly enough matched for the first 10 minutes until Michael Casey was put through to make the scoreline 1 nil to Athletic. We kept up the pressure and a hand ball in the area gave Ronan Buckley the opportunity to make it 2-nil which he expertly took. Some poor defending let Kingdom Boys in to leave the scoreline 2-1 at the interval. We started the stronger of the teams in the second half and eventually were rewarded when Ronan Buckley went on to complete his hat trick with two well taken goals. Best on the day for Athletic were Ronan Buckley and man of the match performance from Michael Foley.
Congratulations: Congratulations to Jer & Marlene O’Donoghue on their recent engagement.
