Athletic were on top from the start and created a lot of good chances with Jason Coffey and Reece Hegarty coming close. But it was Jonathan Green who broke the deadlock when he latched onto a poor clearance and drove an unstoppable shot past the Park keeper. Try as they might, the score remained 1-0 at the break. The second half started with Athletic laying siege to the Park goal and Reece Hegarty gave Athletic a 2-0 cushion with a fine goal after being put through by Kieran Thompson. Shavez added a third when he stroked the ball into the Park's net after a good move down the left-hand side. It was all Athletic now and Thompson himself grabbing the final goal after a mix up in the Park box from an Athletic corner led to an easy finish for him. Overall a great performance from all involved.
