Killarney Athletic A.F.C. Notes
Under 13 Cup Final
Killarney Athletic 1 Park 0
Played in perfect conditions, this was always going to be a close game with little between the two teams. Park started the stronger but Athletic eventually imposed themselves on the game and Michael Casey was unlucky not to score 20 minutes into the game when a well taken shot hit the post. Scoreless at half time it remained. Park again started the stronger of the teams in the second half but again as in the first half Athletic started to create more chances and was eventually rewarded when Dylan O’Sullivan was brought down inside the penalty area. Ronan Buckley converted to put Athletic 1 up with 8 minutes remaining. Athletic defended the one goal lead successfully to the final whistle to leave them under 13 cup champions for 2011. Well done to the entire panel and especially to Ronan Buckley who accepted the cup as captain and also Man of the match award. It was great to see Brendan Moloney on holidays from Nottingham Forest who took time out to watch the game on Saturday morning.
