Killarney Athletic Notes

Killarney Athletic 2 Park 1
We got our first win of the season in a tough game with the park. We got our first goal after Jack O’Connor beat his man down the right wing and whipped in an inch perfect cross to Gavin O’Shea who finished to the net, with Cian O’Lionard and Jack Cahill in good form down the wings we were always going to get chances to extend our lead, both Jack O’Connor and John Antica came close to doing so with speculative efforts from distance. The Park then got a dubious penalty to make it one all, but we showed our fighting spirit to get the winner courtesy of Diarmuid Galvin after good work again by Jack O’Connor. Best for us were Jack O’Connor, Shane O’Sullivan, Jason Lyne, John Antica and Gavin O’Shea
Under 14 Premier League Report
Killarney Athletic 4 Ballyhar 1
Good to get 3 points from this game as Ballyhar were up for it as well and the points were there for the taking by both teams. Athletic got off to a good start with a fine goal from a free kick by Danny Healy quickly followed by a solo goal by David Sheerin. The team worked hard with top class performances from Chris O’Meara, Darragh Coffey and goalie Johnny O’Leary. Brendan Cronin, Cillian O’Regan, Ayden Mulvanney, Ziauel Hoque, Mark O’Shea, Kyle Griffin and David Murphy put in their shifts admirably and done what it says on the tin! Danny Healy, who must be the hardest working player in this league, added another after half time quickly followed by David Sheerin getting his 2nd and Athletics 4th and picking up Man of the Match for his contribution on the day. Good to see John O’Brien and Cian O’Sullivan coming off the bench and contributing to what was in effect a ‘Team Win’. Credit to the Ballyhar lads who worked hard throughout and played the game in good spirits with some fine players – we’ll meet again!!! Well done to the lads – hard work pays off!!
