Killarney Athletic 3 Mastergeeha 2 (after extra time)
Athletic fielded an under strength side in this game and it was very closely contested from start to finish. Mastergeeha scored in the first minute and Stephen Cahillane in goal, Conor Doyle at centre back and Ronan Murphy had to be at their best to keep Athletic in the game. Athletic equalised following a corner after 20 minutes and the game was 1 – 1 at the break. With Jack O’Connor up front hampered by an injury Athletic again went behind and had to fight hard to equalise. That goal came following a great run by Jack O’Connor which resulted in a penalty which Ronan Murphy converted. The game went into extra time and with 5 minutes of extra time remaining Colm Tobin scored a fine goal when he chipped the keeper from 25 yards. The game was a great contest and a credit to both teams. Along with those already mentioned Patrick Coppinger, Rory O’Riordan, Jack Cahill and Anthony Cronin did very well for Athletic.

Killarney Athletic 3 Castleisland 3 (Athletic win 4 – 3 on penalties)
In a game that had everything Athletic came away with a thrilling victory in the dreaded penalty shoot out. After losing to the same opposition last week Athletic were determined not to exit the competition at the first hurdle. With the game only five minutes old Denis O’Sullivan was played in by Jason Brennan and he made no mistake from ten yards. This swung the Island into action and but for some fine defending and excellent goalkeeping from Roy Kelleher. Athletic went two up before the break when David Crowley headed powerfully to the net from a corner kick. The second half began with Castleisland throwing everything at Athletic and were awarded a penalty which was converted, and then ten minutes later they drew level and Athletic were reeling. Castleisland were on top now and scored again, looking home and dry. But this Athletic team dug deep and with minutes on the clock Brennan was floored in the box and Kieran Murphy kept his nerve, 3 -3. Niall Ashe almost snatched at the death but extra time was needed. Twenty minutes of extra time could not decide it, so to shoot out. The drama continued as Athletic Keeper Roy Kelleher saved one and then scored himself from the spot to win the tie. A great team performance.

Killarney Athletic 6 Inter Kenmare 0
As the score line would suggest this game was totally dominated by Athletic. Dylan O'Sullivan scored a hat-trick while Adam O’Shea, Ronan Buckley and Michael Casey scored one each.
