Killarney Athletic A.F.C. Notes
Training Times
Academy
Academy is finished until 18th January 2013. Will be back then at the same training times for the respective age groups.
Under 14 and Under 15
Training is now finished up for the Christmas period. Under 15A have been asked to play friendlies against Nenagh away and our own under 16 team. Under 14s next game is the 5th January with a light training session at the pitch possibly 2/3 January.
Results:
Senior A
Killarney Athletic 2 Bridge United 3
Ed O’Sullivan and David Gleeson were the scorers for Athletic.
Senior B
The senior B team had a comprehensive win over QPR yesterday in the league. A hat trick from Jason O’Grady and a Gary Moynihan headed goal ensured the victory. A good team performance all round.
Under 15A
Killarney Athletic 1 St. Brendan’s Park 3
This was a great game played by two very good sides. It was an even game with Athletic just edging shots on target but just before half time when Athletic were on top, Park scored twice against the run of play with the second a dubious handball gone unnoticed. In to the second half and Athletic stayed strong leading to Athletic winning a penalty. Unfortunately the keeper saved but Athletic battled on and Ciaran Kennedy lobbed the keeper to bring it back to the minimum between the teams. In the dying moments, with Athletic all out attack to get the equaliser, Park countered and killed off the game. A great team performance with all players on the top of their game
Under 13
Killarney Athletic 4 Park 0
Athletic made sure of the points but missed way too many chances to ensure an easier victory. Chavez, Kieran Thompson among the goal scorers.
Under 12
Killarney Athletic 4 Killarney Celtic B1
Under 12's had a great 4-1 win over Killarney Celtic Bs in a pre Christmas friendly. Poor 1st half but boys woke up in 2nd half with a super team effort 2 goals from Keith Suter and one each by Harry Potts and David Moriarty with man of match going to Seamus Gallagher. Thanks to Killarney Celtic for the game.
Under 12 Girls
Killarney Athletic 3 Listowel Celtic 6
Anna Hannigan and Niamh Randles were the goal scorers for Athletic. A great game played by 2 teams promoting girls soccer in the Kerry District League.
