Killarney Athletic A.F.C. Notes

Killarney Athletic 2 Camp 4
We made the trip to Camp with the bare eleven because we were let down by several players who decided not to show. We started the game with the wind and really should have been a couple of goals up by half-time with Jack O’Connor, Gavin O’Shea and Rory O’Riordan all going close but we just couldn’t get that bit of luck in front of goal. We started the second half in blistering fashion and got our goal from Jack O’Connor who finished well at the near post after a superb cross from Kim. The home side then got two quickfire goals and as we pushed looking for an equaliser we left gaps at the back and with no fresh legs to bring on Camp got in for no 3. We pulled a goal back courtesy of Keith Flynn who directed Diarmuid Galvin’s shot into the goal. Galvin was inches away from getting an equailiser with a volley from the corner of the box but it wasn’t to be our day. A great performance by everyone and especially our two stand in keepers Laurence Byrnes and Cian O’Lionard.
Under 12
Killarney Athletic 3 Iveragh Utd 2
Under 12 game v Iveragh Utd cup Athletic won 3 goals to 2. David Shaw and Daniel O’Brien scored in the 1st half for Athletic at half time 2 nil but an own goal let Iveragh back into the game and within a few minutes Iveragh made it 2. A great team display all round best for Athletic Billy Courtney, Michael Pierce and Adoain de Bruin man of the match David Naughton.
