Killarney Athletic Notes
Under 15 National Cup
Killarney Athletic 4 St. Brendan’s Park 3
We advanced into the next round of the national cup with a fine 4-3 win away to The Park, Paul Clifford opened the scoring when he drilled home from the edge of the box after 10 mins, Jack O’Connor then made it 2-0 shortly afterwards when he looped the ball over the keeper from 25 yards, Park got a goal back just before halftime after a dubious penalty, then the home side leveled and this spurred athletic on again, and Gavin O’Shea put us ahead again with a neat finish. The Park got another soft penalty but Steven Cahillane saved it only for the penalty taker to follow up the rebound to leave it 3-3, then as the game looked destined for extra-time man of the match Jack O’Connor scored an absolute screamer out of nowhere to send us into the last 64. Best for us were Diarmuid Galvin, Cian O’Lionard, Shane O’Sullivan and Gavin O’Shea.
Congratulations to Justin & Jennifer on their recent marriage.
