U15 Match Report Division 1; Killarney Athletic 2-5 Tralee Dynamos

A score line that does the team no justice as Athletic squared off against 2nd in the table Tralee Dynamos. Athletic started well & scored early when Horgan’s shot to the corner sent the keeper the wrong way having been expertly put through by Mulvanney. Good work throughout the defence from O’Brien, Tynan, Quill & O’Shaughnessey kept Dynamos to limited chances. When Dynamos did get through they found MOTM Doolan in fine form with three point blank hand denials. Dynamos struck for an equaliser just before the whistle when after two fine blocks on the line they finally got through.

Into the second half & after two changes at the back Dynamos got through early to win a penalty as Athletic where slow to settle. Undeterred the lads pushed on and with Alade bossing midfield & McCann & Osieba starting to find space Athletic pushed on. The equaliser came when a quickly taken free kick from O’Brien put O’Sullivan through who lifted over the on rushing keeper & into the net with a great finish. With Komosa, O’Callaghan & Benson adding to the back four Athletic pushed on but with 10 to go disaster struck when a Dynamos player ahead of play raced onto a through ball to finish neatly to the corner. In sensed Athletic pushed again & went close a number of occasions but could not find the target with chances falling to Alade, Komosa & Moynihan. With time running out Dynamos struck twice late on in stoppage time.

A good team performance that deserved better but one to build on with upcoming cup & shield games.
