Under 16 Match Report , Killarney Athletic 2-1 Ballyhar Dynamos

U16 crowned League Champions

Killarney Athletic 2-1 Ballyhar Dynamos

A great result for the boys in blue which sees them crowned division 1 champions. This was played in a beautiful summers evening in Ferndale who started the game without influential players Jamie Muldoon and Tadhg Doolan. Athletic started brightly and had numerous attacks but the well organised Ballyhar defence were keeping us at bay until Caolan Ryan sprinted down the right wing to cross to Liam Kelliher who coolly slotted home . Ballyhar are dangerous on the counter attack and duly got a quick reply through Jack Duggan to leave the half time score 1-1. Into the second half and athletic now began to play the ball on the deck and Caolan Ryan beat the offside trap to play a 1-2 with Harry Potts to give Athletic a deserved lead. Ballyhar had a late chance but Oliver Cremin was outstanding in the Athletic net. A great team performance from the boys to ensure the league title and remain unbeaten in the league all season. 1 remaining game that will be played in the coming weeks where we will receive the trophy. A big thanks to the coaches, Damien, Martin, Enda, Terry and Micko, the parents and of course the players who ensured a big turn out at training throughout the year despite the conditions. We would also like to wish Ballyhar the best of luck in their upcoming Shield final
